Co-Host · Criminal Defense Attorney
Jake Rigney is an Indianapolis criminal-defense attorney and co-host of Tales from the Brown Desk. The louder of the two, he introduces the show, keeps score on every hot take, and delivers the comebacks — while making sure listeners never forget that a lawyer doesn’t have superpowers. He handles OWI and criminal cases at Rigney Law LLC, where the firm and the podcast share the same live line for listener questions.
Co-Host · Criminal Defense Attorney
Kassi Rigney is a former prosecutor turned Indianapolis criminal-defense attorney and co-host of Tales from the Brown Desk. She does a lot of the talking on the show — explaining concepts like constructive possession “like a surgeon” — and is famous for blunt legal advice that is exactly what you wanted to hear. Her time on the prosecution side means the two of them can talk the case from both corners of the courtroom.

Teri Muehlhausen produced the original run of Tales from the Brown Desk and returned with the 2026 relaunch as producer and co-host. She handles the day-to-day work that keeps the show on the clock — coordinating sessions, organizing research, editing episodes, and getting each one ready to ship.
